We had an absolutely beautiful day and 21 bowling pin shooters came out to enjoy it. Special thanks to those of you who came out early to help set up and stayed late to tear down. We could not do this match without you. Some of us had the usual jitters that come with shooting after months off, while others turned in their usual excellent times. The results are listed below. Our next match will be Saturday, May 2nd. See you then.
Despite ominous skys and the insistant threats from the weatherman, we made our best effort to hold the Pearl Harbor Day Pin match. We finished a little less than half of the shoot before Mother Nature executed a perfect rain attack that shut us down. I have compliled the results we were able get in below. Our pin match season is now over until spring. We will resume in April, once the weather is warm enough that the pins won't shatter when the bullets hit them.
The Zombie Pins lived up to their undead reputation at this November's match. They weaved, they bobbed. a few of mine even moved as the bullets approached. After a determined effort, many of them did actually fall down. Sadly, many of mine were wounded but still managed to stay on the table. As the scores indicate, other shooters were more successful. Our aggregate winner, Paul Ruffle, had a "no pin left behind” day. Dennis Bondi had a sub 20 second performance with his PX4 carbine. Congratulations to all of our category winners.
Thanks to all of our shooters that cane out to support the Fall Classic Bowling Pin Shoot. We had nice weather and a nice turnout for the match. Our next match will be November 1st. See you there!
Sorry about the late results. I was out of town over the weekend and had to travel again today. Thanks to my wife Randi for scanning the scoresheets that I left on the kitchen island this morning. I also apologize in advance if you name is spelled wrong. Some of your handwriting is just awful. On to the results.
The July ASC bowling pin match had fabulous post hurricane weather. We had 17 shooters including several that were like rock stars or actors. I say that becaues like Beyonce or Madonna, they go by only one name. The scores are posted, so I will let you decide if their performances justify their star billing. Two of our rock stars engaged in a grudge match to the bitter end. Vincent will be enjoying watching Casey detailing his truck after a 23 second loss. Next month I think I will show up so that I can get Art to clean my guns.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our club members who have come out and supported our matches. It is nice to see so many ASC members at the matches. For those of you who have not made it out yet, we are eager to welcome you. We promise the same great weather we had this month for each match. Of course, don't come out in June since the ASC will be sponsoring the Women on Target event. Other than that, we shoot on the first Saturday of every month except January, February, and March, when it is too cold for the plastic that holds the pins together.
Please accept my apologies for not getting the match results posted sooner. I was out of town for most of the week and my laptop failed me. We had a perfect match day and the shooters enjoyed themselves. Because of time restraints, only one shooter shot all catagories, so I am not reporting the combined score this month. Our next match will be Saturday May 3rd. And remember, there is no June match to make way for Women on Target.
See you at the range next month.
