Please help share the joy of shooting with our younger generation. We need some volunteers for RSO duty for the 4H District Shoot on Saturday the 30th of June.
Greg Metzgar has volunteered to head this up for us and he needs some RSO help. Ideally there will two shifts of two volunteers, two show up at about 7:30AM to open up the range and conduct a safety brief at 8:15AM. They will go to about Noon and the second shift would takeover at Noon and go to 4PM and close up the range.
Calling all Members:Women on Target will be held this coming Saturday, June 9th. I need at least 10 to 12 Volunteers (the More, the Merrier) for a Major Grass Cutting Party and General Clean Up. This will take place on Friday, June 8th at 9 am. If you are able to help, please bring weedeaters and lawnmowers. Your gas will be provided. I will also have mix for weedeaters and blowers. Let's show our Community how Proud we are of our Range. Thanking You, in advance for your Help! Dave J. XO
The 4H Center would like to try a new program with the Airfield Shooting Club (ASC) for Range Safety Officers (RSOs) and the ASC Board has agreed to try this experimental program for a couple of months. The long and short of it is as follows:
1) 4H would ask that anyone who is interested to fill out a employment application that the 4H Center will send to you.
2) You would became an employee of the 4H Center for the day that you are a RSO and be paid by the 4H Center -- currently $10 a hour.
3) The 4H Center will contact you by either phone or e-mail and see who is available for the dates requested, if none, then we revert back to the standard procedure of ASC getting RSOs to support the 4H shooting activity if possible.
4) All members of the ASC who are interested please call 1-757-899-4901 and ask for Heather or James or Mike for the employment form.

Wounded Warriors will be at the 4H Center tomorrow (Wednesday, April 25, 2012) from 0900 - 1600.
There are two groups, first group of 10 will do archery from 0900 - 1200 and the other group of 10 will do skeet from 0900 - 1200, then they will flip flop for the afternoon.
Anyone who can be there tomorrow I would greatly appreciate it.
I will be there at 0830 and introduce myself and the ASC and stay. Sorry for the short notice.
The ASC board has recently placed new combination locks on the skeet high and low houses.
If you are an ASC skeet or trap shooter and have received training on using the ranges, contact the ASC Secretary to receive the new lock combination for 2012-2013.
Volunteers still needed for Sunday 29 APR in Hampton. 10 - 1pm and/or 1-4pm.
We're okay for Saturday the 28th, but one more for 9-1pm would be good. However, need to fill Sunday first.
