ASC President's Commentary -- Keeping Honor in the ASC Honor System

Posted in

The Airfield Shooting Club (ASC) currently operates on the Honor System for its members to use the ranges.  The ASC Board requires that all of our members follow and obey each of the Range Rules and Regulations (Rules) as set by the ASC Board.  In our Rules, each member is required to act as the Range Safety Officer (RSO) at appropriate times and to control the use by all members and to ensure safety and compliance with the Rules.  The RSO and all members on the range are entrusted to immediately correct any member committing a Rule violation.

The range is NOW OPEN!

Construction of the new range wall commenced on January 12, 2010, and after the County gave their final approval today, construction officially ended.  The ASC Board gave its approval on Saturday (2/20/10) but we had to wait for the County and the Airfield 4-H Center to approve today.

Leupold Mark AR Scope Review

I have been in the market for some decent optics for my flat-top AR. With the economy the way it is I initially tried to keep the cost down and crashed and burned with the NCStar Mark III. Thankfully Midway USA made the recovery much easier with their no hassle return policy.

Bowling Pin Match March 13th

Dear Fellow Pin Shooters,
Were back with a very special pin match on March 13th. As you all know, the range divider is in place and ready for service. Since the range will also be hosting an outside group of Boy Scouts this weekend, we will hold our first ever pin match on the 100 yard line. But don't worry about working up too much of an appetite, because there will be a FREE lunch after the match. The lunch is sponsored by the NAACPS (National Association for the Advancement of Corpulent Pin Shooters) in honor of our long serving Pin Match Director, Cort Tompkins. For those of you who have not heard, Cort will be moving away for a while, so we are having a cookout for him before he leaves.
