Airfield Shooting Club Offers Pistol Classes

ASC has recognized a need for quality handgun instruction and has responded with what we think may be the best one-day training course available in Southeastern Virginia.
Our course is based upon the NRA First Steps (Pistol) class, but we've added in a segment with a practicing attorney who discusses Virginia laws as they relate to firearms ownership and to concealed carry of a handgun. The attorney is also an NRA certified instructor and he helps to teach the entire class so he is available to answer questions throughout the duration of the class. We've also included a segment which discusses a number of different means of carrying a concealed firearm, with discussions of the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
At the end of the class successful participants will be awarded a certificate which will meet the requirements for proof of training under Virginia's Concealed Carry Law. Our Board of Directors has recently approved three-follow-on basic marksmanship training sessions at no additional cost to those who have completed one of our classes. The follow-on training is based around the NRA's Handgun Qualification Program.
The class cost is $65.00. This money goes to pay for the training materials, rental of the classroom facilities, and the attorney's fees. (The attorney is giving us a GREAT rate, try offering an attorney $65.00 for an hour of his time and see how far you get.) Our pistol instructors are all NRA certified instructors who volunteer their time, at no cost, as a public service to our community. If you are interested in attending one of these classes you can contact either of the following:
ASC Vice President, Tim Drewry
